Now, thanks to a new
website , you can improve your vocabulary while providing food for the hungry. John Breen, an Indiana computer programmer, created the game after watching his son study for the SAT. Users are presented with a word and four choices for a definition. An audio file even provides the correct pronunciation of the word. Each correct answer earns twenty grains of rice. One month after the website’s debut, users had earned enough points for one billion grains of rice, enough to feed 50,000 people for one day, according to the UN Food Programme, which is the beneficiary of the funds donated by the site’s advertisers. So, give it try. Accumulate 20,000 grains of rice, and you’ve provided enough caloric intake to sustain an adult for one day, not to mention all the impressive new words you’ll have acquired to try out on your friends!

I have been doing this for about a month since Mary told me about the site. It is fun, and the rice really is being sent.
